Make Following Canada's New Food Guide Easy!

The big news out of Canada in 2019 has been the release of Canada’s new Food Guide!

It’s been twelve years since the Food Guide was last updated, making the re-release of Canada’s official guide to healthy eating a much-needed one for families and individuals across the country. Gone are the recommendations of following specific portions based on age and sex, with a strong focus on fruits, vegetables and grains and less of a focus on dairy and meat alternatives.

The 2019 guide is all about proportional eating, calling on people to eat fruits and veggies while enjoying whole grain foods and proteins. Paired with recommendations on eating whole foods, Canada’s Food Guide features two additional guidelines that include a list of foods to avoid (sugary and highly processed foods) and the importance of making meals at home.

It’s less about what to eat, and more about how to eat to have a healthy body!

When we read this, we were thrilled as we have been encouraging people to make whole foods a staple of their diet for years, and make whole foods the star of our products.
